World Mental Health Day 2019

World Mental Health Day 2019

October '19 - It's that time of the year again! Tomorrow, on the 10th October, the world will be united for the official World Mental Health Day! The  World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) has decided to make “suicide prevention” the main theme of World Mental Health Day this year.

According to the WHO, more than 800,000 people die by suicide a year, making it the principal cause of death among people fifteen to twenty-nine years old. The object of making suicide prevention the theme of World Mental Health Day in 2019 is to attract the attention of governments so that the issue might be given priority in public health agendas around the world.

Getting people to talk about a subject that tends to be taboo and about which many hold mistaken and prejudiced ideas will help the community to learn about the risk factors so that they can identify and learn to address them.

Mindful Matter will be supporting the movement in the same ways we always do, firstly by spreading the word as far and wide as we possibly can to encourage people to talk about their mental health and to take steps to improve it. Secondly, we will be giving away 50% of the day's sales revenue to the Mental Health Foundation.

So, if you were thinking about nurturing your own mental wellbeing with our natural supplements and CBD, on the 10th October, that same purchase can now support others all over the world fighting the same battle for better mental health.

Keep an eye on our Instagram story (@mindfulmatterofficial) as we give you updates throughout the day on how much money will be going towards pushing mental health up the agenda and helping to improve the lives of everyone affected by mental illness.
